Dr Samuel Ho Review (Mori’s Breast Augmentation @ Allure Plastic Surgery)

Dr Samuel Ho Review (Mori’s Breast Augmentation @ Allure Plastic Surgery)

Previously seen as something more of a taboo, plastic surgery in Singapore seems to be gaining acceptance in society. With a growing community of people actively engaged in seeking out different ways to enhance parts of their body coupled with great advances in this multibillion-dollar industry of medical aesthetics, Singapore plastic surgery consumers are now spoilt for choice in the range of medical procedures and products they have access to.

Breasts are a body part(s) many female friends have expressed the fervent desire to improve. They are after all (according to psychologists) the ‘most important external identification of femininity’. A common wish is to make them bigger, but before you go trucking off to the nearest plastic surgeon, here’s a little of what you really need to know about breast augmentations.

WHAT IS BREAST AUGMENTATION

Commonly known to the general public as ‘boob job’, it is actually the breast augmentation procedure is surgery to increase breast size. It involves placing breast implants under the breast tissue or chest muscles. There are different types of techniques to the surgery available to plastic surgeons in Singapore that bring different results. Differences in breast augmentation surgery procedures have to do with the position of the incision for the breast implant, where the breast implant will be situated, and the type of implant used. Plastic surgeons will have the final say in the choice of technique and how the breast augmentation procedure is executed, guided by the expectations communicated by patients. It is therefore of utmost importance for patients consult with your plastic surgeons closely and honestly. Allow them to understand what you wish to achieve with the boob job. The best breast surgery out there, after all, is one that meets your expectations!

Breast augmentation, however, refers only to surgery using implants or fat to increase the size, volume and help with the shape of the breasts. This, however, is not the only procedure when it comes to the world of breast enhancement to plastic surgeons. Singapore women commonly pair augmentation procedures with other breast enhancement procedures such as breast lifts to further enhance the shape and position of the nipples in relation to the breast to achieve the desired aesthetic.

The usage of a breast implant(s) may be used in combination with other procedures during breast reconstruction surgery as well. During these surgeries, the plastic surgeon looks to recreate the patients’ breast(s) using breast implants and tissue grafts from other parts of the body.

WHAT TYPES OF BREAST IMPLANTS ARE THERE?

There are two generally used types of breast implants to get a significant size increase – saline (salt water) and medical-grade silicone gel.

Comparing the two types, the medical-grade silicone gel (silicone breast implants) type is chosen more often due to the feel and look of the implants being more natural. However, do know that there is no such thing as the ‘best breast implant’. Different implants come in different feels, shapes and sizes, and will thus affect the size, shape, width and projection of the final look.

Fat transfer is another option that is used in Singapore. This method may only provide moderate size gains as compared to breast implants, but comes with several upsides. Firstly, it means that patients do not have to have implants or other foreign objects introduced into the body. Secondly, it can be paired with liposuction since fat has to be first extracted from another part of the body before being reintroduced to your breasts by the surgeon.

As breast surgery is a big step for most who decide to make a change for themselves, we highly recommend looking for a doctor that understands and listens to your needs and aesthetics.

It’s common to feel a little overwhelmed or concerned as you take those first steps towards fulfilling your aesthetic image for yourself. Here are a few tips you can do to help:

Before going under the knife for aesthetic surgery, it is highly recommended that you do your own part in reviewing written information, such as patient information from the manufacturer of the implants. Consultation with your doctor is definitely a must, remember to keep a list of questions and expectations to understand what you’ll be getting into.

Types of medication, such as blood thinners, multi-vitamins and supplements will have to be stopped at least 2 weeks prior. If you happen to indulge in tobacco, you’ll be told to stop at least 6 weeks before.

You may need to undergo a baseline mammogram before surgery, as advised as your doctor.

Here’s a video transcript of Mori Cara’s breast augmentation experience with Dr Samuel Ho of Allure Plastic Surgery to help you understand the process better.

2 Mori Consultation Breast Augmentation at Allure Plastic Surgery Dr Samuel Ho

The reason why I wanted to do this surgery is because after my weight loss, I found that in terms of the fullness of my breasts, there was a drastic reduction. I think choosing the right plastic surgeon is something that is very important. I believe in Dr Samuel Ho’s ethos, and believes that an enhanced version of natural beauty is what is most important. There is actually a simulation and you can try on different sizes so you have a good idea of what size implants you would like to take.

Dr Samuel Ho: I think you’re doing well, everything is settling nicely. The wound has healed nicely. It’s been about a month, so this is where we just have to wait for the implants to settle into its final position. Everything else looks good, symmetry looks good, size looks good. Are you overall happy?

Mori: Yes it’s great! Thank you!
